Semih Zeki, born in Bolu in 1981, graduated from the Department of Painting at Marmara University. Having completed his master's degree at Işık University Art Theory and Criticism Department, the artist opened his first solo exhibition at Utopia Platform in 2010 with the title “What You See from My Nature”. Semih Zeki mainly uses architectural details and data in his paintings and creates a new architectural system by transforming and changing all the elements. While early works contain hints of the evolution of the whole structure or the whole from the piece, recent works bring the whole relationship of the piece to the audience with an increasingly abstract expression. In this process, which Semih Zeki defines as the “journey of painting to painting”, paintings take place in a system that preserves their own special forms, gives birth to themselves, produces and constantly renews itself with the ties they provide Decoupled from each other. Having opened his exhibitions titled “Gross Layers” in 2015, “Demolition” in 2017 and “Autopoiesis” in 2019 at Bozlu Art Project, the artist continues his productions in his workshop in Istanbul.
