Vildan Hoşbak (Arbon, 1990) completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Sculpture Department of Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University in 2013. In the following years, the artist also completed Master’s Degree in Institute of Fine Arts at the same university. She is currently working on her creations in Aydin.
The artist is interested in the way memory works. Human memory is quite unsteady. Yet, she is inspired from it and focuses on the thin line between recalling and forgetting; crystal clear details and vague images of the memories.
According to her, places and objects, one comes across every day could be the key to evoke a memory. It could be a chair, a toy or a hallway. Through her works, Hoşbak establishes a new dialogue and invites the viewers to take a second look at these simple objects.
