ARTIST STATEMENT

Defining the process of painting as a mental and physical action that grows and develops by being articulated layer by layer, Halil Vurucuoğlu diversifies the visual language in his works with social facts, information disinformation, the subconscious, human beings who are the combination of matter and meaning, and different topics that he is interested in in his personal life. The interaction between these themes gains new dimensions in the artist's works. After the point where the classical techniques of painting were not enough, after intense research and study, he specialized in the unique paper cutting technique that had not been applied before. He became the pioneer of this technique with the paintings he created from paper he cut by hand, colored with watercolor. Continuing his work by adding his imagination to his positive and negative experiences, Vurucuoğlu, although he is generally known for his paper cutting works, continues his productions using different techniques such as watercolor and spray paint, as well as installation and three-dimensional works.
