BIOGRAPHY

Melike (1980, Samsun), started studying art at Anatolian Fine Arts High School Painting Department in Izmir in 1994. While studying at the Painting Department of Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1998-2003, she worked on the Performative Acting and Staging Method which is developed by Şahika Tekand at Studio Players in İstanbul. Also she took part in the cast of the team over the years. She had different experiences in workshops ranging from plastic arts to performative arts at home and abroad. Melike completed master's degree in Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Art and Design on 2019 with thesis titled “Choreographic Object in the Works of Robert Rauschenberg, William Forsythe, Jérôme Bel in the Interdisciplinary Art Context”. She has been working in the fields of photography, video-sound as well as painting, since 2019.

Melike is interdisciplinary artist. She works on painting, photography, video-sound and animation. Her art practice is based on the body-centered gesture that takes place in the present tense, form researches made with different techniques and disciplines. The process in which the works emerged, physically and mentally, includes experimental research basically in which the actor approach talk with the grammar of the painting discipline. By destroying time - in the sense of mental process -, the mind and body enter into contact with the medium and a search in game for form takes place with the possibilities and bounders offered by the technique. Problems that push the boundaries of the pictorial style, such as the interruption of the movement, its ordinaryization, or just pointing to a ordinary mark that bears the trace of movement, occur in photography and other disciplines, again based on performance, in the direction of pushing the limits of photography or the style used. Considering that the artist's own body is the center of the works, the emerging forms point to the issues of the me/body that is the agent, the woman, the performer and the object.

• Within Istanbul: The works ready for delivery will be delivered within 2-5 working days, the works that are not ready for delivery are delivered within 2-9 working days according to the length of the preparation process.
• Outside of Istanbul: The works ready for delivery will be delivered within 3-7 working days; the works that are not ready for delivery are delivered within 3-10 working days days depending on the preparation process.
• 4D artifacts such as video, GIFs are sent to you via email.
• You will be contacted for Digital Installation works to be technically set up and an installation schedule is created.

RETURN

• Artwork that can’t be returned:
• All pictures and prints that are specially printed for you.
• All artwork that is framed specially for you.
• All  Sculpture and Ceramic works under the 3D category.
• All 4D artifacts such as video, GIF, and other digital work that is sent to you without a watermark.
• All digital installation work whose technical set up was specific to you and the location you requested.
• You can return the works that you bought at shopi go ART within 14 days of their delivery to you or the address of the person/institution that you had provided that they are undamaged.
• To initiate the return process, you need to create your request by contacting our customer service at 444 86 84, info@shopigoart.com, or via WhatsApp Support Line.
• Returns should only be made with the return procedure determined by Shopi go ART. No other form of returns will be accepted.
