Letter from the editor

What is human?

This month, we carried a square from the cover of the Ankara Modern Dance Society (Ankara MDT) program within the State Opera and Ballet and the choreography of the British choreographer and dancer James Sutherland.

Climate crisis, successive wars, winds of fascism blowing in the world and finally tested with artificial intelligence, "What is a human being especially in the age of artificial intelligence we are in?" Sutherland questioning a very valid issue by saying, "Time and space also bondLAs I, when the spiritual and physical capacity is combined, an incredible power emerges that pushes us further. For example, an extraordinary force can emerge to save his child from a mother under the bus. ‘How's thatL Questions such as ‘Where does this power come from?’ take the person to the answer, ‘This is what makes us human.’ This potential, many of usLIt can move to a completely different level. Artificial intelligence is not at this level and will never come. This fascinated me and what's it in danceL I started thinking that I could show it. That's how I came to the idea of ‘man, and I thought it could be a great dance show. I hope this is what you see on the stage.
