What would they say if your works revive and talk in a fantastic reality?

Don't be afraid of cities. Cities are the greatest legacy that humanity has left to us. Crazy idea. I think romantic like getting married. “I will love you for life” or “Come, 18 million let's live together” head is very crazy.

Obviously you feed on the city.

I love city life, it feeds me in every sense. When I look at my ancestors, both my family on the Belgian side and my family on Turkey are 4-5 generations. My DNA has been mutated and I have no relationship with nature anymore. I love to go in between, but the city is really my natural environment.

What superpower do you think of art?

To be free.
Freedom is something I care about. I have always worked freelance while doing architecture. Bond to an institution or a structureLI didn't want to be. Freedom sometimes creates the need to be poor, but what I find most valuable.

SkateboardL Can you tell us about it?

Skateboard practice is invented by surfers in California, and in fact, the waves are developed to train when they are not efficient to surf. The surfing tradition is of course much older. Thousands of yearsL First, a religious ceremony in the Polynesian Islands. His name in the dialect there is Nalu. Being with a wave means merge with the wave. I see doing skateboard as a meditative practice, such as being one with the city and internalizing the city.

Can you tell us about the creation process?

The skate I made in my youth shaped my perspective against the city and the relationship I established. In recent years, I have been observing Istanbul for my academic research. The proprocational relationship I established with this city has left a lot of images in my mind; It may be the eaves line created by the buildings with the sky, or the shadow on the ground, or maps in my mind of the trails I make, etc. I give a lot to the issue of freedom that I have always been stuck with during their expression and this expression. Painting I leave room for improvisation while doing. My paintings are actually like an accident that I try to gather constantly.

How's the timelessness of his artL do you define

You grew up in Ankara and went to Brussels to study architecture. Being in a country or city with a different mentality and textureL Impressed?

Frankly, I had a hard time. I was 13 years old, I was my age of adolescence and personality. The first was hard, but after the age of 16, I devoted myself to skateboarding by planting school from time to time. I can say that I internalized Brussels with the skateboard.

City and city works are at the focus of their work. So how do today's urban people in this fieldL are you positioning?

It's a strange issue because people always criticize the city. Crowded, dirty, overwhelming, but on the other hand everyone is eager to live in the city. Because these are great phenomena; In a few steps, we can reach culture and all kinds of equipment. A intense energy and quantitative situation created by human intensity in cities is sovereign and it actually makes people happy and alive.
