2DFatih Oruç (2002, İzmir) focuses on sharpening his unique voice in photography and video mediums. The artist, who has been interested in visual arts since a young age, started producing and writing images in a serious style as of 2016. He completed his first short film "Masked" in 2019. In 2020, he decided to devote himself completely to art and ended his university education.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Fatih Oruç hunts for images by working with analog and digital techniques; He gives new meanings to what he captures through the manipulation of light, composition, color and time. Sometimes he chases eye-catching, sometimes repulsive and even scary images. His interest in cinema pushed him to create poetic images. Depicting people using the city, the artist's instantaneous images created on the street create confusion between fiction and moment, thanks to their symmetrical structure. The nature of his works is open to question, so the photographs are meant to push the consumer into projection.
