MINE ERCAN KARABEYOĞLU
3DMine Ercan Karabeyoglu (b.1965, Ankara) completed her undergraduate education in Textile Engineering. Ercan Karabeyoglu has been working on ceramics for about 10 years.
After taking contemporary art courses and various ceramics courses, she continues her work in the home-studio she established in Istanbul and in the Göcek, Fethiye home-studio she established last year. Ercan Karabeyoglu aims to capture the harmony of discord with her works that bring together different forms, textures and colors.
Ercan Karabeyoglu, who prefers to work with stoneware (high firing) and chamotte clays, likes to reveal the natural, simple texture of the clay by using different techniques during the production process. She tries to capture the natural texture by shaping her pieces by hand, trimming them using a lathe, and coloring them with oxides.
