ECE AGIRTMIS
3DEce Ağırtmış, born in Izmir in 1995, graduated from the painting department of Işılay Saygın Anatolian Fine Arts High School in 2013, and then continued her education in Eskişehir by entering the Graphic Design department of Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts. After having the opportunity to work in different disciplines here, her interest in painting increased even more. Colors and the way they are used have always intrigued her. She wanted to bring her paintings to life through wood. She had the opportunity to improve herself with balsa, acrylic and other tools. She experimented with many toys/sculptures. Ece wants to give a different perspective to her works by layering her paintings.
The artist took part in group exhibitions and projects in Türkiye and abroad. She currently continues her work on painting, sculpture and other areas of interest.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Ece Ağırtmış approaches life with the cartoons she watched in her childhood and their humorous approaches and reflects this in her works. She uses the solid form of wood by making it move/distort it, just like in the cartoons/animations she watches. Wood as a material helps remind us of nostalgic toys.
The ironic things he observes and sees in daily life attract his attention, and she reflects them in her works by handling them in a funny and colorful way.
