SERCAN APAYDIN
He completed his undergraduate education in 2007.LEskisehir Anadolu University, Painting and Business Teaching DepartmentLSercan Apaydın (Izmir, 1983), who graduated from Istanbul University, worked as an instructor at Tvind International Schools in Denmark between 2013-15.
By participating in artist exchange programs, he continued his work in 2016.LLocated in Southern France, St. Hanri Association Payra Sur L'Herse artist camp, 2019LHe continued his work temporarily at the KEX Studio within WUK in Vienna, Austria.
The artist, whose works have been exhibited in Denmark, France and Germany, held his first solo exhibition in 2015 under the name Deep Emptiness.LHe opened it at Versus Art Project in Istanbul. Then, he opened his personal exhibitions named sahibinden (2017), Internal Design (2018) and Han (2020).
The artist continues his work in his workshop in Heybeliada.
While Sercan Apaydın develops thoughts on the relationship between life and space in the city and nature landscapes he paints with an observant perspective, he is interested in issues such as architecture and its ideological background, and the perception of the painter in the information age.
Apaydın, with the three-dimensional forms it produces Painting He arranged a number of installations that protrude from the surface and create internal spaces. Establishing his own space with his works consisting of pieces he transformed, especially canvas frames and rods, Painting and it wants philosophical ideas such as being the place itself to come into being. On this basis, perspective, stance and presence emphasize the importance of all vital practices. In his paintings, he uses techniques such as collage and assemblage, as well as paint, within the framework of city life, architectural space and geometric distance ideas.
