SÜHA ŞAHİN
2DSüha Şahin (Ankara, 1970) The artist, who studied painting at Bilkent Faculty of Fine Arts, mostly reflects an intuitive integrity to the audience in monochrome in her works. After his first solo exhibition in 2012, Şahin continues his studies and production in Istanbul, exhibiting his works at fairs such as Contemporary Istanbul and Art Beat Istanbul.
In this intuitive world belonging to the artist, its unity is determined not by the theme, but by the artist's personality, that is, style. While images that have escaped symmetry stand out with their vivid formatting, the dramatic effect they create first distorts the perception, and then rearranges it by moving it off the canvas. The pictures show themselves in a dimension between the paint and the real world, sometimes Decently, sometimes hidden, sometimes surprisingly. The actor, from the outside to the inside, consciously scattered in all directions of the fragmented elements in a deep narrative transcends the visual and flows into the consciousness of the viewer.
The striking nature of the street, the outside, being able to be outside while inside, allows everything to be solved and “hal” to take on the form of “hal”. The intensity of energy liberated from space and canvas expresses a majestic dignity and a power of in-depth criticism with the viewer's gaze. Süha Şahin brings back to the agenda the search for a permanent and weighty aesthetic despite the superficial, inventive artistic crowd of the era.
