Cem Gönül (b.1993-Istanbul) graduated from Haliç University with a degree in Industrial Product Design in 2017. During his studies, he worked in various fashion and design-focused roles. After university, his path crossed with AlaturcaHouse, which led him to discover his artistic voice in painting. While working on his solo art projects, he also served as the solo assistant to one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary art, Haluk Akakçe, for three years. This intense period, which holds deep significance in his journey, marked the beginning of his solo exhibitions. Following this, he joined the pool of young artists represented by Sevil Dolmacı, who also represents Haluk Akakçe. He secured his place among globally significant names in the Golden Hour exhibition at Ruins Hotel in Bodrum in 2024.

Cem uses colors as a dominant element in his works. He spends hours trying to find the "right" color in his acrylic paintings on canvas, creating his own unique shades. His obsession with colors takes his art to another level. Alongside his abstract work, figures are also present in his pieces. Every day, he works on dozens of figures, conversing and living with them. Each figure holds a different story born from his imagination. In his art, he creates his own technique using handmade tools, deepening his figures with geometric details.

His art controls his mind, heart, thoughts, living space, friends, and attitude—nearly every aspect of his life—and he takes great pride in this.
