EZGİ NUR AKINCI

2D

Ezgi Nur Akıncı (Lüleburgaz, 1990) after graduating from Edirne Anatolian Fine Arts High School in 2008, she graduated from Istanbul Marmara Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department in 2013 and completed her education at Karlsruhe State Fine Arts Academy between 2015-2018. Akıncı deals with the concepts of nature, space, extinction and re-creation in his works. In her art practice, she distorts the images of nature he archives and produces fictional spaces by combining these images with various materials such as collage, paint and ink. In an uncertain reality, she builds intertwined, homogeneous structures by melting boundaries. The artist lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The artist generally bases his works on destroying the physical or emotional boundaries that alter society and living spaces. With her art, she designs an alternative universe and its reflections, where there are no boundaries and contradictory elements can coexist. The artist's works can be defined in terms of nature, space, destruction and re-creation. She deforms the pieces of nature she photographs, records with sketches, and ready-made images he archives, and brings them together with various materials. She produces imaginary fiction spaces from images of different places using collage, watercolor, ink and similar materials. In these alternative spaces, sometimes depicted in abstraction, she builds homogeneous structures by spreading fluid lines and layered motifs over the surface of the paper. Both the contrast of the materials she uses and the harmony within the visual chaos she designs create their own harmony, pointing to an alternative existence and leaving some areas ambiguous. In an uncertain reality, she dissolves sharp corners and establishes structures with intertwined borders.
