BIOGRAPHY

Can, who completed his master's degree in Visual and Performance Arts at Paris Sorbonne University, previously studied Mixed Media and Collage at institutions such as Parsons the New School, School of Visual Arts, International Center of Photography. His studies on acting and performance in institutions such as Actors Studio and the Royal Academy of London are instrumental.LHe searched for ways to combine visual and plastic with his work. Currently working at the United Nations and working as an editor at VOGUE and GQ magazines, Can collects materials for his collages during his travels around the world and continues to create his collages based on the concept of 'reality' in different parts of the world.
It collects everything. Even the discarded garbage he found in the villages of Mexico, and the sand from the beach in Miami where Al Pacino and Demi Moore danced. He is looking for a way to bring together different realities and energies from different worlds and thus try to explain the essential truth, which, in his opinion, is the complexity of life. The physical collection process that accompanies this mental collection also describes its plastic language. Other materials from other places constitute the materials of artistic expression. It is necessary to collect many different data and materials from different stages of life in order to create reality for Can, who, after a day spent in refugee camps, attended the fashion shows of high fashion brands in Paris, which cost millions of dollars for 10 minutes, the next day. He believes that absolute truth "if it exists" can be approached by collecting the different realities of different worlds. He uses his collages as an act of advocacy, turning those who look at them into witnesses and advocates. According to him, the beauty of life comes from the fact that it is indefinable and indescribable, so each of his works is realized with different materials and methods, because there is no single rule, neither for life nor for any of his works.
