BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1993 in Antalya, Emir Aktunç, also known as Max, is currently pursuing education in the Industrial Product Design department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. As both a muralist and a musician, he blends art across different fields. In 2014, Max ventured into the world of Street Art and since then, he has worked on mural-focused projects in various cities across Turkey, including Istanbul, Ordu, Sinop, Ayvalik, and Antalya, as well as internationally in countries such as the Netherlands, Portugal, and Macedonia.
Max sees himself not only as an artist but also as an experience designer. Traces of his fine arts education, intensive drawing studies, and pictorial inclination are evident in his works. Depicting various creatures amidst the chaos of urban life, he reminds us of the often-overlooked lives around us. Max observes city life, considering the routines of animals, plants, and humans, and attempts to express these observations in his layered works.
His art serves as a tribute to the diverse inhabitants of multicultural cities. In his works, Max creatively merges electronic systems and global diversity, offering areas of relaxation filled with vibrant colors to escape negativity. By exploring interspecies relationships and divisions, he continues to tell his own story within the urban landscape of Istanbul.
