BIOGRAPHY

Yunus Emre Sarı (Sakarya, 1996) completed his undergraduate degree at Sakarya University Painting Department. While continuing his undergraduate studies, he started to work as an artisan in ASAŞ Art Studio in 2017, and worked with painting and sculpture artists from different disciplines such as Süleyman Saim Tekcan, Hanefi Yeter and Bilal Hakan Karakaya. Between 2017-2021, he worked as an assistant to sculptor Mert Ege Köse. He left the ASAŞ Art Studio in February 2021. Sarı continues to work in his own studio in Sakarya.

Machinery, which has an significant place in every aspect of life, especially in the field of industry, may seem superhuman; but they are actually result of the human mind. Considering machinery as a manifestation of the human mind, Sarı interprets machine aesthetics in his works with a different perspective than the futurist point of view. Contrary to the futuristic understanding that praises speed and the power that comes from speed in the artistic creation process, the machines stop for a moment and bring back the silence that has disappeared. The silence of the machines depicted in works of Sarı, represents the helplessness of the human mind declaring victory over nature, and the machines turn into a still life of sorts such as the dead nature and objects.
