BIOGRAPHY
Gizem Akgönül (Istanbul, 1985) completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design in Toronto. Later on, she moved back to Istanbul and focused on philosophy as well as her design practice. For the last six years the artist has been traveling to different regions to learn traditional techniques and history of the land, as she continues her practice in different disciplines and materials for her art and design works.
Gizem Akgönül’s works relay an exploration of a utopian civilization through their objects and artefacts in which the main objective is to question the idea of art and design in relation with their production and craft as well as their reflection on contemporary culture.
The viewer is invited to form ideas and construct a narrative about the artist’s imaginary civilization through the clues she gives with each piece.

DELIVERY
- For books and orders above 1500 TL, shipping is free.
- Within Istanbul: The works ready for delivery will be delivered within 2-5 working days, the works that are not ready for delivery are delivered within 2-9 working days according to the length of the preparation process.
- Outside of Istanbul: The works ready for delivery will be delivered within 3-7 working days; the works that are not ready for delivery are delivered within 3-10 working days days depending on the preparation process.
- 4D artifacts such as video, GIFs are sent to you via email.
- You will be contacted for Digital Installation works to be technically set up and an installation schedule is created.
RETURN
- Artwork that can’t be returned:
- All pictures and prints that are specially printed for you.
- All artwork that is framed specially for you.
- All Sculpture and Ceramic works under the 3D category.
- All 4D artifacts such as video, GIF, and other digital work that is sent to you without a watermark.
- All digital installation work whose technical set up was specific to you and the location you requested.
- You can return the works that you bought at shopi go ART within 14 days of their delivery to you or the address of the person/institution that you had provided that they are undamaged.
- To initiate the return process, you need to create your request by contacting our customer service at 444 86 84, info@shopigoart.com, or via WhatsApp Support Line.
- Returns should only be made with the return procedure determined by Shopi go ART. No other form of returns will be accepted.
