2D, 4DCandaş Şişman (Izmir, 1985) is an artist who uses digital and mechanical technologies as a means of expression. His work covers many different disciplines such as multi-sensory installations, inclusive experiences, sound installations, kinetic sculptures, animations and audiovisual performances. Using digital and mechanical technologies in his works, he manipulates our perceptions of time, space and movement, builds bridges between digital and physical reality. Dec.
Candaş Şişman, who is one of the founders of Nohlab, which produces interdisciplinary experiences around art, design and technology, is also one of the founders of NOS, a collaboration platform that produces audio-visual performances. In recent years, he has been teaching courses on sound art at various universities.
having received the Prix ARS Electronica Honorable Mention award and the special jury award at the Japanese Media Arts Festival since 2007, Candaş Şişman has participated in many important festivals and exhibitions such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, ARS Electronica, TEDX, TodaysArt and FILE.
The artist lives and works in Istanbul.
