Hakan Tüzün Şengün (Ankara, 1971) graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture in 1994. After his graduation, in 1999, he completed his master's thesis in the Department of Architectural History under the supervision of Prof. Dr Afife Batur. While working with Han Tümertekin, he took part in the design teams of projects such as B2 House (Aga Khan Award 2004), ATK Lodgings, Çatalhöyük Museum and Visitor Center. In the idea competition organized by DOMUS magazine for the functional redefinition of the Ryugyong Hotel, the "Zeppelinized" proposal was published as DOMUS cover number 893 (2006). He worked on thresholds and transitional spaces at École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Lyon, where he was an invited researcher within the framework of his doctoral study. He won awards in many national and international competitions. In 2017, he founded PARCH, which carries out projects, publications and research on the interface of architecture and landscape. In 2018, he completed his doctorate in the Architectural Design program of Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture with his work titled "Poetics of the Street Market: A Phenomenological Investigation on the Temporality of Temporary Structure". He is currently a lecturer at Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture.


Hakan Tüzün Şengün, in his video and photography series focusing on Lyon, Lisbon, Paris and Istanbul, which he started during his doctoral studies, takes photographs that focus on the poetic image and tectonic expression of architectural space, trying to simply capture a fiction that pursues a hidden gaze and the implicit story in his mind.
