Nihat KarataşLı (İzmir, 1988), completed his master's degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a New Artist Society merit scholarship. Installation by the artist, who currently lives in Beirut, Sculpture and produces works in the fields of video. 2019-2020 floor of Ashkal Alwan's Home Workspace programLThe artist, who is one of the creators, conducts research on the perception of sincerity in virtual and physical public spaces; It focuses mainly on purification, care and social healing rituals.
2018-2019 floor of the Istanbul Biennial Work and Research ProgramLKarataş, who is among the founders ofLHe participated in guest artist programs in South Korea, Spain and Turkey. Recently, Koç University, Framer Framed (Amsterdam), Akbank Sanat, Borusan Contemporary and YKY Kültür Sanat YayıncıLHe made speeches and presentations in institutions such as İK. KarataşLArt Unlimited articles and interviews appeared in Istanbul-based magazines. The artist is also a member of Hüzün Archive, which operates within Koç University, and LHe is one of the co-founders of the uban-based [s-a-p-o].
The artist's upcoming exhibitions and festival appearances include the solo exhibition PnPnots at La Juan Gallery (Madrid), the Kasseler Dokfest program and the film screening at KulturBahnhof Kassel.
